Topic Alerts
Your Northwest AHEC librarian can set up current awareness literature searches for you in any topic(s) of your choice. For example, you may want to be notified of any new articles published on gaining magnet hospital status, controlling nosocomial infections, treatment of ADHD, or reducing staff turnover. Whatever your topic of interest, we can set up a recurring literature search so that you will receive an email alert each month listing new articles of interest. Tables of Contents Services
Receive the table of contents from your favorite journals as each new issue is published by signing up for table of contents email alerts. Most medical journal publishers offer this free service from their websites. To find the website of a journal simply type the name of the journal into your favorite search engine, such as Google. Follow the instructions on the publisher’s website to register for free email alerts. Please call your nearest Northwest AHEC Library if you need assistance.
RSS Readers and RSS Feeds
RSS Feeds are becoming more common as an unobtrusive way to stay current on journals, topics of interest, government alerts, and organizational information listed on a website. We have lists of several sites and journal publishers who provide RSS Feeds and can recommend some options for RSS Readers, set you up with some beginning RSS Feeds and show you how to add to and manage your Feeds to keep updated on the healthcare information you need.
