PAR STOCK SYSTEM
The Par Stock System is the provision of supplying items to a nursing unit, which are critical to that particular unit within a 24hour period.
Par stock levels are set by the unit’s Unit Manager or the unit’s Financial Coordinator, after a careful and well calculated assessment of the floor’s needs.
Each nursing unit is re-supplied daily by Storeroom par stock personnel to maintain the unit’s established par level and to avoid stock outs where possible.
If supplies and/or equipment stocked in the par stock area are needed after normal Storeroom hours (6:00a.m. – 10:00p.m.), dial extension 63174 or 64892 and a Central Service courier will deliver the needed item.
