RECEIVING
HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
PURPOSE
Accurately account for all non-stock items and equipment, except food products and pharmaceuticals, shipped to and from the North Carolina Baptist Hospital from suppliers, repair facilities, and Departments of the Hospital.
OPERATIONS
Ø Receiving and delivering non-stock supplies and equipment ordered by the various departments throughout the hospital.
Ø Identifying and recording all incoming items and equipment on receiving reports.
Ø Verifying the quantities of the items and equipment received.
Ø Documenting accurate information on receiving reports.
Ø Inspecting all items and equipment for damage prior to acceptance from carrier.
Ø Coordinating the inspection of all electrical items with the Engineering Property Clerk prior to delivery to the departments of the hospital.
Ø Obtaining the signature of an authorized representative of the ordering department upon delivery of the items or equipment after the representative has inspected and accepted the delivery.
Ø Tracking, packaging, and shipping items and equipment that are to be returned to suppliers or be repaired.
Ø Receiving and encoding personal packages delivered to the hospital.
Ø Accepting and coordinating the delivery of items ordered by the Pharmacy, the Gift Shop, and ServiceMaster.
Ø Coordinating the recycling of wooden pallets accumulated by the hospital.
Ø Assisting with the delivery of large equipment delivered to the hospital by suppliers.
Ø Ensuring the safe storage of medical gas cylinders.
Ø Ensuring the dock area is secure and is a safe environment in which to work.
