CENTRAL SERVICE

 

HOURS OF OPERATION


We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week

 

FUNCTIONS

 

Process, maintain, and dispense materials and equipment required by medical, nursing, or paramedical personnel in designated departments for the care, diagnosis, or treatment of the patient. 

 

Develop and maintain high standards for material processing so as to provide materials that contribute to better patient care and decrease potential contamination and spread of infection. 

 

PURPOSE

 

To provide supplies and equipment used in the direct care of the patient in a manner which provides for the maximum sterility, safety, economy and efficiency.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

To assume full responsibility for preparation, sterilization and storage of all trays, packs, basins and miscellaneous reusable items used in patient care.

 

To maintain, at all times, a sufficient inventory of sterile supplies and equipment to cover a given period of time and have in reserve ample supplies to cover an emergency situation.
