Q: Is the Office of Student Services closed on holidays?
A: Yes, we are closed on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, two days at Thanksgiving, and two days at Christmas.

Current Policy
It is the policy of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine to remain open and continue operations unless otherwise determined by the Dean and President WFU Health Sciences. Classes and clerkship activities will be held when the school is open. In the event of inclement weather, students should call 716-4272 to check schedule changes for that day. Every effort will be made to also notify students via the e-mail system.
In any event, even if classes and clerkship activities are being held, students are urged not to travel under unsafe conditions or to take unnecessary risks. Any student who is unable to attend class or clerkship activities because of inclement weather should notify his or her preceptor, course or clerkship director, or the
Office of Student Services 716-4272.

Q: What do I need to do to change my mailing address?
(Medical students only)
A: Just come by the Office of Student Services to complete a form or Email us at stuserv@wfubmc.edu with: Student’s Name, Effective Date, Class of, Address, City, State, Zip and Telephone.
Q: What do I need to do to change my name?
(Medical students only)
A: For name changes, we need a copy of your marriage license and SS card with your new name, and a letter from you requesting your name change and what your legal name would be. If you are or were a WFUSM/WFUHS employee, you will need to do the same as indicated above for Human Resources. WFUHS policy will not allow Student Services to change a name in the system if the student was/is an employee.
