They always greet you with a warm smile and are always willing to give however much time you need, no matter how busy they are. Their professionalism really says a lot. ...I have been at many medical centers and this is by far the most professional and helpful library staff." - WFUSM medical student

Questions 4, 5 and 6

Question 7: Suggested new classes

New classes suggestions included: evidence-based medicine searching; Access (intermediate and advanced), statistics, web publishing, Adobe Acrobat, a library online services class, introduction to SAS, MeSH Headings, Project Management, effective search strategies, FrontPage, how to create PowerPoint posters; Photoshop and other graphics programs; "tricks" of research; clinical research design; editing manuscripts.

Question 8: Improving Library resources and/or services (semi-colons indicate single user comment, ellipses indicate several remarks from one person)

Continue to get more electronic journals; classes after 5pm; add MSOffice suite to reference area computers; keep older journals, even if it means expanding the stacks, because they are important; more audiovisuals and informative information; more widespread notice of classes available; a few more software classes that are less expensive; a more user-friendly search engine for social science literature...reduce the cost of ILL; remove subscriptions to low impact journals and spend the money on more electronic access to higher impact journals; online access to more journals, esp. PsycLit; it would be great if I could access all textbooks directly (like UpToDate) without having to use an id and pw (like MDConsult); a better collection of monographs; more journals covering wider range ... better coordination with library at Wake esp. as regards online journals, i.e. one search engine for both campuses; more computers; more nursing journals; extended hours; later hours on Fri. and Sat. nights ... I am VERY pleased with the resources here, although some more current texts on primary care and pediatrics as well as nursing would be useful ...Carpenter is one of the biggest perks of my employment at NCBH and has helped with my graduate education much more than my university library has; I think the Library should contact Baptist HR to inform them to tell new employees that the library can be utilized by them ... nursing students need to be informed in more ways...maybe some type of informational card listing services should be distributed to new employees during orientation; make the student section of the website more relevant and easier to use; would love it if the NY Times arrived on the current day ... medical students could definitely use additional computers on which we can sign on to print, etc.; it would be nice to have more small group conference rooms; not paying for printing; the method for obtaining passwords for some journals is too cumbersome; get Medline back, it is so much better than PubMed, especially use of filters, was always more complete in finding literature; recent videotapes on cancer; reduce the rate of book fines ... there needs to be more up to date books; having an online review or notes from the resources would be nice...it is hard to remember all the little details about how to work programs, like RefMan; color copier for patrons.

Question 9: Proxy Server

76 said they used the Library's proxy server. When asked if they were satisfied with its performance, 68  responded yes and  6 responded no. Those that said they were dissatisfied cited the following reasons: "difficult to access ... lost account; not always available; limited access to journals;".
