About Loansome Doc
Loansome Doc is a document request capability available to searchers of Medline using PUBMED. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) developed PUBMED and offers Loansome Doc. NLM, however, is not the ordering library for Loansome Doc service. In reviewing citations from a search in PUBMED you tag articles you wish to order. PUBMED users must make arrangements with a library (usually a local health sciences library) for service. Information identifying you and the desired articles is uploaded to the National Library of Medicine’s computer and sent to your supplying library.
When we receive your requests, we will copy the articles and send them to you. If we do not have an article in our collection, we will refer the request via Interlibrary Loan to another provider library, if you indicate your desire for us to do so on your form.
