Locating Materials

Older journals held on microfilm are located in a file cabinet in the photocopy room.

Journals are in the stacks on levels five through one, arranged alphabetically by title. Information on specific titles may be found by using the online terminals located in theStacks.

Books are located on level six of the stacks, arranged by call number. The stacks are located through the doorway across from the Circulation Desk.

Audiovisuals - Slides, models, audiocassettes, and videocassettes are located in the hall leading to the Learning Resources Center.

Reserve & Reference Room

The Reserve and Reference Area is located off the Upper Reading Room. Reserve materials may be checked out for overnight use one hour before closing. Many reserve items also have circulating copies in the general stacks. The Main Reference Collection is located here. In addition to this reserve collection, a closed reserve collection is kept at the Circulation Desk. These materials may be checked out for 2 hour periods for library use only. The materials begin accruing fines at the end of the two-hour period.

Overdue Policy

Library materials, checked out to a user, are the responsibility of that user. One-day circulation is defined as any item checked out on one day must be returned by closing time of the following day. Items checked out before 7:00 PM on Friday are not due back until midnight on Monday.

Fines are $1.00 per day for CD-ROMs, interlibrary loan items, and both reserve and closed reserve textbooks. The fine is $.50 per day for all other materials. Fines begin accruing after the due date; the first day is a grace day. If materials are not returned, the library bills for the replacement cost of the item plus a $25.00 processing charge. Patrons with unpaid bills over $25 for as long as a month will lose borrowing privileges. Once the item is returned, the replacement cost and the processing fee are dropped, but the fine remains.

New books circulate after a one week viewing period on the new book shelf.
