Molecular and Cell Biology Core Lab

The Molecular and Cell Biology Core facilitates the use of state-of-the-art cellular and molecular biology technologies for investigators within the Hypertension & Vascular Disease Center as well as national and international scientists on a fee for service basis.  The Molecular Biology unit provides reagents and expertise for a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to, real time-polymerase chain reaction, reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction, gene array hybridization, yeast and bacterial two-hybrid analysis, Northern, Southern and Western blot hybridization, development of antisense oligonucleotides and siRNAs, generation of recombinant adenoviral constructs, subcloning, riboprobe development, and promoter analysis.  The Tissue Culture unit provides tissue culture cells and the expertise necessary to complete cellular biology protocols.
