Cardiovascular Journal Edited by Ferrario Is Accepted by MEDLINE
Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease, a journal established in 2007 that includes articles, reviews and scholarly comment on studies relating to cardiovascular disease, pharmacology and medicine, has been selected for indexing in MEDLINE.
Carlos M. Ferrario, M.D., director of the Hypertension and Vascular Research Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
“This is a significant accomplishment for such a young journal and a critical step for the future development of the journal,” Ferrario said. “More importantly, it is a true testament as well as important recognition of the work that has been completed from all of the effort put forth starting in January 2007, through the launch of the journal in October 2007, to where it stands now with eight completed issues.”
The Literature Selection Technical Review Committee of the National Library of Medicine reviewed the application and, based upon both the scientific policy and scientific quality among other aspects ranging from on-time delivery to production quality, approved it..
Ferrario, professor of surgical sciences, physiology and pharmacology, is the Dewitt Cordell Professor of Surgical Research. An internationally recognized center for the investigation of vascular disease and hypertension, the Hypertension and Vascular Research Center at Wake Forest Baptist provides comprehensive care for hypertension and vascular disease.
In 1994 the Center initiated an educational program to increase awareness of the higher volume of cardiovascular disease in the Southeast region of the United States that resulted in the creation of the Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control (COSEHC).
Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease is for all professionals concerned with cardiovascular disease and is a forum for all views on related subjects.
