Health on Wheels™

The Hypertension and Vascular Research Center operates a Health on Wheels™ screening van serving western North Carolina, southwest Virginia and northwest South Carolina. Screenings may include measures on blood pressure, total and HDL cholesterol, body mass index and a brief medical history.

The mission of Health on Wheels™ is to improve public awareness of cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. A health counselor travels with Health on Wheels™ to answer questions, provide educational resources and help arrange medical appointments with local physicians when screening indicates a need.

Health on Wheels™ is part of the Hypertension and Vascular Research Center’s outreach efforts to diminish the effects of high blood pressure on the region’s citizens by providing public education and access to medical care.

If you would like the Health on Wheels™ van to visit your business, church or other organizations, please contact Sarah at 336-716-0608.
