Study Abroad Opportunity – Travel to Brazil!
U.S.A. – BRAZIL CONSORTIUM
BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES EXCHANGE (BSE)
PROGRAM: U.S. university partners are Wright State University and Central State University in Ohio and Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. The purpose of the program is to train U.S. students in integrative biology and to strengthen interchange of cultural and scientific values to widen the horizons of participants. Under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply.
ELIGIBILITY: Students applying to this program must
Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
Be an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at one of the U.S. partner schools.
Have at least one quarter/semester of Portuguese language or equivalent proficiency. Beginning Portuguese classes are taught at WFU and WSSU.
PROGRAM DATES AND INFORMATION: The program is flexible for start dates. The plan is for a group of students to go together to Brazil for a one semester program. Program participants will receive financial support for housing and travel. Students will pay tuition at their home institution and will receive credit for the courses taken in Brazil. The fellowship program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education Fund for Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE).
