Prostate Cancer
Wake Forest University School of Medicine is conducting research to determine the role of genetics, or inheritance, in the development of prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in U.S. men and is the second leading cause of cancer mortality. It is not known why some men develop prostate cancer and some don't. However, research studies have shown that it does have an inherited component. Families in which several men have developed prostate cancer can be studied to identify prostate cancer genes.
