Research Interests

My current research is focused on defining the pathophysiology of allergy and asthma with regard to gene-environment interactions and immunologic responses to allergen. A major initiative in the laboratory is the characterization of subpopulations of allergic asthmatics who respond to allergen exposure with different types of airways inflammation. These "immunologic phenotypes" are used to investigate the functional genomics of known candidate genes and the pharmacogenetics of clinical responses to therapeutic interventions in these subjects with asthma.
