Meet our Providers
Samuel Newsome, MD
In practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Newsome is board certified in family medicine and has additional qualifications in geriatrics. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, he attended Bowman Gray School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
A vocal community health advocate, Dr. Newsome is President of the medical staff at Stokes Reynolds Memorial Hospital. He is also a member of the Stokes County Board of Health. As a health provider, he believes he has an obligation to be a community asset.
Dr. Newsome’s personal interests include jogging and snow skiing. He is married and has two grown sons.
Nancy Stone, MS, AGNP
Nancy Stone began her 35-year nursing career after attending Forsyth Technical Community College where she entered the Licensed Practical Nurse Program and earned an associate's degree in nursing. She continued her studies at Winston Salem State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and went on to earn a master's degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
She has worked at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital, long-term nursing centers and private medical practices.
When treating patients, Nancy believes in treating more than just a medical condition. She evaluates the problem and provides the necessary care to help patients return to a healthy state of mind and body.
In her personal time, she enjoys flower gardening, collecting antiques, reading, and spending time with her grandson.
Candice Key, MS, FNP
Candice Key has over 14 years of nursing experience. She completed her master's of science in nursing education at Winston-Salem State University and has experience in emergency, critical care, coronary care, and cardiac rehabilitation nursing.
Candice provides compassionate, holistic care to patients. She believes listening to her patients is imperative to implementing a treatment plan. She works to partner with patient so they are active participants in their healthcare.
As a busy mother of three children, she enjoys family activities including church, camping, and skiing.
