Mental Health for Pediatric Primary Care Series
Early detection and treatment of mental health disorders lead to improved outcomes. Since approximately 75% of children with mental health disorders are seen in primary care settings, it is important for primary care providers to be well trained in screening, diagnosis, management and referral. According to a 2004 study of pediatricians located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, 15% of patients presented a behavioral health disorder. A majority of respondents in the study also reported a significant lack of training in behavioral health and a desire for more training and experience.

2007 Mountain Medical Meeting
This CME activity, targeted to family practitioners and general internists, is designed as a review/update of selected areas of medicine. Each lecture at this year's meeting began with at least one case, which the speaker went through as part of his/her presentation. By participating, participants should increase their knowledge of the subjects presented and then be able to apply that knowledge to specific patient management problems. This year's emphasis was devoted to the areas of dermatology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, rheumatology, and women's health.
