Study of Skin Biopsies in Patients with Kidney Disease

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to find a better and more efficient way to diagnose kidney disease clinically. Current testing genetic methods for kidney disease are difficult and expensive. To develop a clinical test for kidney disease, we will obtain and compare skin biopsies from affected and unaffected individuals.

• All Ethnicities
• Ages 18+

Eligibility Criteria

• Have Medullary Custic Kidney Disease 1(MCKD1)
• Healthy family member of someone with MCKD1
• At least 18 years or older
• Not currently on blood thinners

What is involved

• Skin biopsy
