Study For Men Getting Prostate Biopsies

What we are studying

Most biopsies for prostate cancer turn out to be negative (that is, there is no cancer present in the tissue). We believe that men whose blood calcium level is higher than average may be more likely to have a positive biopsy (have cancer present in the tissue). We hope that this study will provide information that, in the future, will help us offer prostate biopsies to men who most need them.
