Parent-TOT Aquatic Program

Children ages 1 to 4 years

Adults- any age

Overview

This program is designed for children and their parent, or other legal care provider. All children must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times. The adults and children are not required to know how to swim in order to participate.

The class will be limited to 4 participants and their parent/caregiver. This class will be conducted by a Learn to Swim Instructor.

Goals:

Provide parents basic handling skills to work with their children in the water.  

  • Allow children opportunities for water exploration, exercise and fun. 
  • Provide a nurturing recreational and social environment that is beneficial to the parent/child relationship.
  • Provide an environment where each child and parent/caregiver will pursue individual goals and benefit from several components of warm water.

Structure:
Group setting.  Different techniques will be presented in each class. 

Schedule:
Class is held on Monday evenings. Call 713-8082 for start dates.           

Fee:  $30 per month.

Location:
J. Paul Sticht Center warm water pool on WFUBMC campus.

Pool Temp: 90 degrees.

Clothing:
Swim diapers are required if your child is not potty trained.

Swimming:
Parents must be comfortable in the water.

Class contingent on 4 participants.
