Chaplaincy & Pastoral Education Program Program Description: The Chaplaincy and Pastoral Education Program marked its 50th anniversary in 1997. More than 2,700 ministers and seminarians have trained in its year-long residency and summer programs. It is international in scope, with participants from more than 30 countries on five continents, and ecumenical in its approach, with more than 30 denominations represented. Mission and Philosophy: The primary mission of the program is to enhance pastoral competency through the experience of caring for patients and their families in the hospital setting.
