Scientists Working to Engineer 22 Different Tissues and Organs The Wake Forest Institute For Regenerative Medicine is the first research facility in the world to create a laboratory-grown organ -- engineered bladder tissue that was successfully implanted in patients. Now, a team of more than 150 scientists is working to engineer more than 22 different tissues and organs.
